It's hard to
believe, but just a few years ago, I was determined to be a chemical engineer.
Acting and singing were just extracurricular activities I enjoyed. But that
has changed. I made my debut in the professional acting world when I landed
the role of a lifetime as Nala in the critically acclaimed production of
The
Lion King on Broadway, transforming my longtime hobby into a successful
career.
Following
my stint on the stage, I moved into television, with an appearance in
NBC's Law
& Order, as well as a recurring role in City
of Angels on CBS. I completed filming my first leading role in a
major motion picture, Hollow
Man, in which I portrayed an expert data analyst working on a top-secret
government project. Co-starring Kevin
Bacon and Elizabeth
Shue, and directed by Paul
Verhoeven.
Heavily involved
in drama and choral activities throughout high school (I was State Champion
for Dramatic Interpretation my senior year) and college (I am featured in
two solos on the Spelman College Jazz CD). I have acted in countless theatre
productions and musicals during my life, as well as performed in a female
R&B group called "Expression".
Recently, I
wrote and produced what I call Cab-a-Play entitled, "Agape Love",
which received rave reviews.
Originally
from Chicago, Illinois, I attended Spelman
College in Atlanta where I graduated with honors, and received a Bachelor
of Science in Mathematics. In addition, I attended New York University's
prestigious Tisch School
of the Arts where I earned a Master of Fine Arts. I've guest starred as
"Kayla" on Providence
on NBC, and will be appearing in two upcoming films:
Phone
Booth
ZigZag
I currently
reside in Los Angeles, California.
